Is it acceptable to have film personalities in politics?

I am amazed at the number of film people turning ‘political’. Anybody can become a politician. But nobody will invite a beggar on streets to lead the country if he is still a beggar.
Nobody invites a prostitute or a criminal if he/she is just that. Then why a film personality?

The film people don’t know what art is. They have no idea how it works. Art is used to enlighten, inform and (mostly) didactic in a subtle fashion. Art should rub the right muscle.
But now media, especially cinema is used just to provoke and mislead the public. If it’s the case then how much our film stars can take the responsibility of the country.

India is a great noble nation. Her history spans thousands of years.
She has great heritage as we see now too (She didn’t loose influence on her people).

Such is our lineage, our depth and understanding of our culture. Lets not forget that, if we are in any office that we serve a privilege, a great mission.
